“While looking at you, her thoughts prefer to wander where reality stretches. A zone full of expressive enlargements, hilarious absurdism, poetic drama and small happiness of great value”.

I love the creative power of imagery. Photography and the edit room makes it possible for me to play with choices about reality and deception. And with each cut I try to learn more about cutting for impact. I created my playground ‘Made You Look’ so I can carry out daily what I like most: discover storylines and transform them into visual language.

Before I dedicated myself to photography and editing, I studied Cultural Social Education and had a varied working life. After setting up the International Film Festival Curacao IDFA as a graduation project I worked as a theatre producer for Toneelgroep Amsterdam, The Rozentheater and Jeugdtheater Zuidoost among others and operated as a stagehand in Theatre Carré Amsterdam. In addition I had a career as a sailor on a Frisian sailing ship for many years.

After this working period I followed several courses in photography, editing (Avid & Premiere Pro), camera, directing and film theory. At the moment I work as a content and technical editor and accomplish the post-production process for documentaries, short films, showcases, corporate films and commercials. In teamwork with full service production company Deep Thought Productions and with my ‘partner in crime’ cameraman/editor Alexander Koning.

In addition I work as a photographer and always looking for collaborations with creative minds.
